Sandbox scenario · SN009 · Purchase type
Cotton spinner buying from a cotton ginner
The one scenario in the set that describes a purchase rather than a sale. Spinning mills buying lint from ginners report the transaction themselves, so the sale type is recorded as a purchase type. Every textile-sector profile is assigned this scenario, which makes it unavoidable for Pakistan's largest manufacturing sector.

What gets SN009 rejected
- 01
This is a purchase-type submission — spec §9 notes the column is a purchase type in the case of cotton ginners. Treating it as an ordinary sale is the usual mistake.
- 02
Error 0050 requires sales tax withheld to equal either the sales tax or zero for the cotton ginners sale type — no other value is accepted.
- 03
Error 0100 rejects cotton ginners transactions against unregistered buyers; the counterparty must be registered.
- 04
Required for Manufacturer, Importer, Distributor, Wholesaler, Exporter, Retailer and Service Provider profiles in the Textile sector.
You should not have to hand-type SN009
We are building a free FBR digital invoicing app that works out which scenarios your profile needs, fills them in, shows you exactly what will be sent, and submits them to the sandbox on one button. Tell us if you want it.
